4th of July Weekend

This past weekend was filled with family, fun, and fireworks. Friday evening, my parents had a cookout for the family. We had dinner, played croquet, ate watermelon, set off fireworks, and then waited and waited for the fireworks to start. A big windstorm blew through, so we waited until around 10:30pm, which made for a late night. The fireworks were great and it was definitely fun to snuggle with Tim, John, and Kate.

Saturday morning, my mom and I woke up and headed up to Lewiston, Utah for the Run to the Border 5k. We met Tim and his kids there and took a few pictures.

My mom and Tim and I did the 5k and Rylan, Tim's son did the 1 mile race. We all started at the same time. Tim started running with me, but I quickly told him to go ahead. I started off slow and ended up catching up with my mom. She started off too fast, so I kept her going. I actually just talked to her about a book I just finished. I told her we were going to finish in under 35:00 and that she was going to PR. She was definitely working hard, but we got her across the line in 34:56 and she ended up coming in 3rd in her age group. She even got a ribbon. My dad actually rode his bike up to Lewiston and met us there.

After the race, I headed home and got ready for the day. Tim and I planned to take the kids to the car show. We grabbed lunch at Pounders, this fantastic Hawaiian restaurant that just opened in Logan and then headed down to the fairgrounds to check out the cars. I took a few pics of the cars I love. Apparently, according to Tim, I have an addiction to red cars...all red cars. Also, I love 56-57 BelAirs...love love love em!

We also watched the Cruise In, where all of the old cars drag Main Street. I enjoyed a black raspberry shake from Charlie's. Tim enjoyed the black 67 camaro with the blower. I actually had to wipe the drool off his chin. After the parade, we headed out to dinner and then enjoyed the sunset.

Sunday was busy. My new nephew Cole was given a name and a blessing. My grandparents were in town from St. George. After the blessing, we headed to a park for a yummy lunch. We hung out with my parents for a bit and then headed back to Tim's place for some much needed relaxing time watching some James Bond movies. Definitely a big, busy, fun weekend!
